Mountain Melodies Chorus Sing Out for Peace Program
Colville, Washington 9/11 2002
The chorus performed at the Rendevouz Theater of Community Colleges of Spokane, Colville Campus. The program opened with the VFW Flag Folding Ceremony Team. The chorus sang many songs, including Thank You Dear Lord, Battle Hymn, America and Tuxedo Junction.

"At first I saw this as an opportunity for the chorus to be a stand for peace in the community. But as planning progressed I also saw it as a stand for peace between communities within Colville We had a blend of different ages (our youngest performers were 12-15, our oldest were 80+), styles of music and eras of music, as well as the VFW Flag folding Ceremony," reports Laurella Pickett, Mountain Melodies Chorus.
Of the 12-15 age group we had music by the popular local group, "Impossible Flame," exceptionally gifted kids who write their own music:
Michael Pickett, a local professional musician whose groups include KP Axis and Millenium Overdrive, performed a number of solos for the audience to bring the program to a very enjoyable conclusion:
